Chapter 15

8He captured Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and completely destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. 9But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the more valuable animals, the lambs, and everything that was good, and were unwilling to destroy them completely; but everything despicable and weak, that they completely destroyed.
10Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying, 11'I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands.' And Samuel was furious and cried out to the LORD all night. 12Samuel got up early in the morning to meet Saul; and it was reported to Samuel, saying, 'Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself, then turned and proceeded on down to Gilgal.' 13So Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, 'Blessed are you of the LORD! I have carried out the command of the LORD.' 14But Samuel said, 'What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the bellowing of the oxen which I hear?' 15Saul said, 'They have brought them from the Amalekites, for the people spared the best of the sheep and oxen to sacrifice to the LORD your God; but the rest we have completely destroyed.' 16Then Samuel said to Saul, 'Stop, and let me inform you of what the LORD said to me last night.' And he said to him, 'Speak!'

10Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, 11It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. 12And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal. 13And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD. 14And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? 15And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. 16Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. 8He captured King Agag of Amalek alive, but he completely destroyed all the rest of the people with the sword. 9Saul and the troops spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, goats, cattle, and choice animals, as well as the young rams and the best of everything else. They were not willing to destroy them, but they did destroy all the worthless and unwanted things.
10Then the word of the Lord came to Samuel, 11"I regret that I made Saul king, for he has turned away from following me and has not carried out my instructions." So Samuel became angry and cried out to the Lord all night.
12Early in the morning Samuel got up to confront Saul, but it was reported to Samuel, "Saul went to Carmel where he set up a monument for himself. Then he turned around and went down to Gilgal." 13When Samuel came to him, Saul said, "May the Lord bless you. I have carried out the Lord's instructions."
14Samuel replied, "Then what is this sound of sheep, goats, and cattle I hear? "
15Saul answered, "The troops brought them from the Amalekites and spared the best sheep, goats, and cattle in order to offer a sacrifice to the Lord your God, but the rest we destroyed."
16"Stop! " exclaimed Samuel. "Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night.""Tell me," he replied.

8He captured Agag, the Amalekite king, but completely destroyed everyone else. 9Saul and his men spared Agag's life and kept the best of the sheep and goats, the cattle, the fat calves, and the lambs--everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality.
10Then the LORD said to Samuel, 11'I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has not been loyal to me and has refused to obey my command.' Samuel was so deeply moved when he heard this that he cried out to the LORD all night.
12Early the next morning Samuel went to find Saul. Someone told him, 'Saul went to the town of Carmel to set up a monument to himself; then he went on to Gilgal.'
13When Samuel finally found him, Saul greeted him cheerfully. 'May the LORD bless you,' he said. 'I have carried out the LORD's command!'
14'Then what is all the bleating of sheep and goats and the lowing of cattle I hear?' Samuel demanded.
15'It's true that the army spared the best of the sheep, goats, and cattle,' Saul admitted. 'But they are going to sacrifice them to the LORD your God. We have destroyed everything else.'
16Then Samuel said to Saul, 'Stop! Listen to what the LORD told me last night!' 'What did he tell you?' Saul asked.

8A Agag, rey de Amalec, lo capturó vivo, pero a todos los habitantes los mató a filo de espada. 9Además de perdonarle la vida al rey Agag, Saúl y su ejército preservaron las mejores ovejas y vacas, los terneros más gordos y, en fin, todo lo que era de valor. Nada de esto quisieron destruir; solo destruyeron lo que era inútil y lo que no servía.
10La palabra del SEÑOR vino a Samuel:
11«Me arrepiento de haber hecho rey a Saúl, pues se ha apartado de mí y no ha llevado a cabo mis instrucciones». Tanto se alteró Samuel que pasó la noche clamando al SEÑOR. 12Por la mañana, muy temprano, se levantó y fue a encontrarse con Saúl, pero le dijeron: «Saúl se fue a Carmel, y allí se erigió un monumento. Luego dio una vuelta y continuó hacia Guilgal».
13Cuando Samuel llegó, Saúl le dijo: ?¡Que el SEÑOR te bendiga! He cumplido las instrucciones del SEÑOR.
14?Y entonces, ¿qué significan esos balidos de oveja que me parece oír? —le reclamó Samuel—. ¿Y cómo es que oigo mugidos de vaca?
15?Son las que nuestras tropas trajeron del país de Amalec —respondió Saúl—. Dejaron con vida a las mejores ovejas y vacas para ofrecerlas al SEÑOR tu Dios, pero todo lo demás lo destruimos.
