1 Kings 9:13-15
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
13
And he said, 'What are these cities which you have given me, my brother?' So they have been called the land of Cabul to this day.
14
And Hiram sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
15
Now this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon conscripted to build the house of the
Lord
, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
King James Version
Chapter 9
13
And he said, What cities
are
these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.
14
And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.
15
And this
is
the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 9
13
So he said, "What are these towns you've given me, my brother? " So he called them the Land of Cabul, as they are still called today.
14
Now Hiram had sent the king nine thousand pounds of gold.
15
This is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon had imposed to build the Lord's temple, his own palace, the supporting terraces, the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
New Living Translation
Chapter 9
13
What kind of towns are these, my brother?' he asked. So Hiram called that area Cabul (which means 'worthless'), as it is still known today.
14
Nevertheless, Hiram paid Solomon 9,000 pounds of gold.
15
This is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon conscripted to build the
Lord
’s Temple, the royal palace, the supporting terraces, the wall of Jerusalem, and the cities of Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
English Standard Version
Chapter 9
13
Therefore he said, “What kind of cities are these that you have given me, my brother?” So they are called the land of Cabul to this day.
14
Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
15
And this is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon drafted to build the house of the LORD and his own house and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer
New International Version
Chapter 9
13
What kind of towns are these you have given me, my brother?' he asked. And he called them the Land of Kabul, a name they have to this day.
14
Now Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
15
Here is the account of the forced labor King Solomon conscripted to build the LORD's temple, his own palace, the terraces, the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, Megiddo and Gezer.
New King James Version
Chapter 9
13
So he said, “What
kind of
cities
are
these which you have given me, my brother?” And he called them the land of Cabul, as they are to this day.
14
Then Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.
15
And this
is
the reason for the labor force which King Solomon raised: to build the house of the
Lord
, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
