1 Kings 9:11-15
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
11
(Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and juniper timber and gold, satisfying all his desire), that King Solomon then gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12
So Hiram left Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, and they did not please him.
13
And he said, 'What are these cities which you have given me, my brother?' So they have been called the land of Cabul to this day.
14
And Hiram sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
15
Now this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon conscripted to build the house of the
Lord
, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
King James Version
Chapter 9
11
(Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12
And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.
13
And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.
14
And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.
15
And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the
Lord
, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 9
11
King Hiram of Tyre having supplied him with cedar and cypress logs and gold for his every wish —King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the land of Galilee.
12
So Hiram went out from Tyre to look over the towns that Solomon had given him, but he was not pleased with them.
13
So he said, "What are these towns you’ve given me, my brother?" So he called them the Land of Cabul, as they are still called today.
14
Now Hiram had sent the king nine thousand pounds of gold.
15
This is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon had imposed to build the
Lord
’s temple, his own palace, the supporting terraces, the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
New Living Translation
Chapter 9
11
he gave twenty towns in the land of Galilee to King Hiram of Tyre. (Hiram had previously provided all the cedar and cypress timber and gold that Solomon had requested.)
12
But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the towns Solomon had given him, he was not at all pleased with them.
13
What kind of towns are these, my brother?' he asked. So Hiram called that area Cabul (which means 'worthless'), as it is still known today.
14
Nevertheless, Hiram paid Solomon 9,000 pounds of gold.
15
This is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon conscripted to build the
Lord
’s Temple, the royal palace, the supporting terraces, the wall of Jerusalem, and the cities of Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
English Standard Version

13
Therefore he said, "What kind of cities are these that you have given me, my brother?" So they are called the land of Cabul to this day.
14
Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
15

Lord
and his own house and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer

But when Hiram went from Tyre to see the towns that Solomon had given him, he was not pleased with them.
13
"What kind of towns are these you have given me, my brother?" he asked. And he called them the Land of Kabul, a name they have to this day.
14
Now Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold.

New King James Version
Chapter 9
11
(Hiram the king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress and gold, as much as he desired),
that
King Solomon then gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12
Then Hiram went from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, but they did not please him.
13
So he said, “What
kind of
cities
are
these which you have given me, my brother?” And he called them the land of Cabul, as they are to this day.
14
Then Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.
15
And this
is
the reason for the labor force which King Solomon raised: to build the house of the
