1 Kings 8:33-35
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 8
33
When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, if they turn to You again and confess Your name and pray and implore Your favor in this house,
34
then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave their fathers.
35
When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and praise Your name, and turn from their sin when You afflict them,
King James Version
Chapter 8
33
When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:
34
Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.
35
When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

33
When your people Israel are defeated before an enemy,
because they have sinned against you,
and they return to you and praise your name,

may you hear in heaven
and forgive the sin of your people Israel.
May you restore them to the land
you gave their ancestors.
35
When the skies are shut and there is no rain,
because they have sinned against you,
and they pray toward this place
and praise your name,
and they turn from their sins
because you are afflicting them,
