1 Kings 4:24-30
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
24
For he was ruling over everything west of the
Euphrates
River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings west of the River; and he had peace on all sides surrounding him.
25
So Judah and Israel lived securely, everyone under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
26
Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27
And those deputies provided food for King Solomon and all who came to King Solomon’s table, each in his month; they allowed nothing to be lacking.
28
They also brought barley and straw for the
war
horses and baggage horses to the place where it was
required,
each
deputy
according to his duty.
29
Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore.
30
Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.
King James Version
Chapter 4
24
For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
25
And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
26
And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27
And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
28
Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.
29
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
30
And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 4
24
for he had dominion over everything west of the Euphrates from Tiphsah to Gaza and over all the kings west of the Euphrates. He had peace on all his surrounding borders.
25
Throughout Solomon’s reign, Judah and Israel lived in safety from Dan to Beer-sheba, each person under his own vine and his own fig tree.
26
Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27
Each of those deputies for a month in turn provided food for King Solomon and for everyone who came to King Solomon’s table. They neglected nothing.
28
Each man brought the barley and the straw for the chariot teams and the other horses to the required place according to his assignment.
29
God gave Solomon wisdom, very great insight, and understanding as vast as the sand on the seashore.
30
Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.
New Living Translation
Chapter 4
24
Solomon’s dominion extended over all the kingdoms west of the Euphrates River, from Tiphsah to Gaza. And there was peace on all his borders.
25
During the lifetime of Solomon, all of Judah and Israel lived in peace and safety. And from Dan in the north to Beersheba in the south, each family had its own home and garden.
26
Solomon had 4,000 stalls for his chariot horses, and he had 12,000 horses.
27
The district governors faithfully provided food for King Solomon and his court; each made sure nothing was lacking during the month assigned to him.
28
They also brought the necessary barley and straw for the royal horses in the stables.
29
God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore.
30
In fact, his wisdom exceeded that of all the wise men of the East and the wise men of Egypt.
English Standard Version
Chapter 4
24
For he had dominion over all the region west of the Euphrates from Tiphsah to Gaza, over all the kings west of the Euphrates. And he had peace on all sides around him.
25
And Judah and Israel lived in safety, from Dan even to Beersheba, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, all the days of Solomon.
26
Solomon also had 40,000 stalls of horses for his chariots, and 12,000 horsemen.
27
And those officers supplied provisions for King Solomon, and for all who came to King Solomon 's table, each one in his month. They let nothing be lacking.
28
Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds they brought to the place where it was required, each according to his duty.
29
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the seashore,
30
so that Solomon 's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.

27
The district governors, each in his month, supplied provisions for King Solomon and all who came to the king’s table. They saw to it that nothing was lacking.
28
They also brought to the proper place their quotas of barley and straw for the chariot horses and the other horses.
29
God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
30
Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.
New King James Version
Chapter 4
24
For he had dominion over all
the region
on this side of the River from Tiphsah even to Gaza, namely over all the kings on this side of the River; and he had peace on every side all around him.
25
And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan as far as Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
26
Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27
And these governors, each man in his month, provided food for King Solomon and for all who came to King Solomon’s table. There was no lack in their supply.
28
They also brought barley and straw to the proper place, for the horses and steeds, each man according to his charge.
29
And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.
30
Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt.
