Chapter 21

26He also acted very despicably in following idols, conforming to everything that the Amorites had done, whom the Lord drove out from the sons of Israel.
27Yet it came about, when Ahab heard these words, that he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and fasted, and he lay in sackcloth and went about despondently. 28Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

26And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.
27And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly. 28And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

26He committed the most detestable acts by following idols as the Amorites had, whom the Lord had dispossessed before the Israelites.
27When Ahab heard these words, he tore his clothes, put sackcloth over his body, and fasted. He lay down in sackcloth and walked around subdued. 28Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite:
