1 Kings 19:4-7
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 19
4
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and he asked for himself to die, and said, 'Enough! Now,
Lord
, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.'
5
Then he lay down and fell asleep under a broom tree; but behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, 'Arise, eat!'
6
And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a round loaf of bread
baked on
hot coals, and a pitcher of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again.
7
But the angel of the
Lord
came back a second time and touched him, and said, 'Arise, eat; because the journey is too long for you.'
King James Version
Chapter 19
4
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O
Lord
, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
5
And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
6
And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7
And the angel of the
Lord
came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

Chapter 19
4
Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. 'I have had enough,
Lord
,' he said. 'Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.'
5
Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, 'Get up and eat!'
6
He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again.
7
Then the angel of the
Lord
came again and touched him and said, 'Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.'
