1 Kings 18:1-8
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 18
1Now it happened after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, 'Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will provide rain on the face of the earth.' 2So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria. 3Ahab summoned Obadiah, who was in charge of the household. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly; 4for when Jezebel killed the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave, and provided them with bread and water.) 5Then Ahab said to Obadiah, 'Go through the land to all the springs of water and to all the river valleys; perhaps we will find grass and keep the horses and mules alive, and not have to kill some of the cattle.' 6So they divided the land between them to survey it; Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.King James Version
Chapter 18
1And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth. 2And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria. 3And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly: 4For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.) 5And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts. 6So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself. 7And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah? 8And he answered him, I am: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.Christian Standard Bible

5Ahab said to Obadiah, "Go throughout the land to every spring and to every wadi. Perhaps we'll find grass so we can keep the horses and mules alive and not have to destroy any cattle."
6They divided the land between them in order to cover it. Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went the other way by himself.
New Living Translation
2So Elijah went to appear before Ahab. Meanwhile, the famine had become very severe in Samaria.
3So Ahab summoned Obadiah, who was in charge of the palace. (Obadiah was a devoted follower of the Lord.
4Once when Jezebel had tried to kill all the Lord’s prophets, Obadiah had hidden 100 of them in two caves. He put fifty prophets in each cave and supplied them with food and water.)
5Ahab said to Obadiah, 'We must check every spring and valley in the land to see if we can find enough grass to save at least some of my horses and mules.'
6So they divided the land between them. Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.

Now the famine was severe in Samaria. 3And Ahab called Obadiah, who was over the household. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly, 4and when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave and fed them with bread and water.) 5And Ahab said to Obadiah, “Go through the land to all the springs of water and to all the valleys. Perhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, and not lose some of the animals.” 6So they divided the land between them to pass through it. 2So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria,
3and Ahab had summoned Obadiah, his palace administrator. (Obadiah was a devout believer in the LORD.
4While Jezebel was killing off the LORD's prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied them with food and water.)
5Ahab had said to Obadiah, 'Go through the land to all the springs and valleys. Maybe we can find some grass to keep the horses and mules alive so we will not have to kill any of our animals.'
6So they divided the land they were to cover, Ahab going in one direction and Obadiah in another.
New King James Version
2So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab; and there was a severe famine in Samaria.
3And Ahab had called Obadiah, who was in charge of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly.
4For so it was, while Jezebel massacred the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah had taken one hundred prophets and hidden them, fifty to a cave, and had fed them with bread and water.)
5And Ahab had said to Obadiah, “Go into the land to all the springs of water and to all the brooks; perhaps we may find grass to keep the horses and mules alive, so that we will not have to kill any livestock.”
6So they divided the land between them to explore it; Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
