The bowl of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil become empty, in accordance with the word of the
Lord
which He spoke through Elijah.
17
Now it happened after these things that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his condition became very grave, until
at the end
he was no longer breathing.

the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

And it came to pass after these things,
that
the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

The flour jar did not become empty, and the oil jug did not run dry, according to the word of the Lord he had spoken through Elijah.

After this, the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. His illness got worse until he stopped breathing.
New Living Translation

There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the
Lord
had promised through Elijah.

Some time later the woman’s son became sick. He grew worse and worse, and finally he died.
