He walked in all the sins of his father which he had committed before him; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the
Lord
his God, like the heart of his father David.

But for David’s sake the
Lord
his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem,

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the

his God, as the heart of David his father.

Nevertheless for David's sake did the
Lord
his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

Abijam walked in all the sins his father before him had committed, and he was not wholeheartedly devoted to the

his God as his ancestor David had been.

But for the sake of David, the

his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up his son after him and by preserving Jerusalem.

He committed the same sins as his father before him, and he was not faithful to the
Lord
his God, as his ancestor David had been.

But for David’s sake, the
Lord
his God allowed his descendants to continue ruling, shining like a lamp, and he gave Abijam a son to rule after him in Jerusalem.
