1 Corinthians 9:8-9
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
8
I am not
just
asserting these things according to human judgment, am I? Or does the Law not say these things as well?
9
For it is written in the Law of Moses: 'YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE IT IS THRESHING.' God is not concerned about oxen, is He?
King James Version
Chapter 9
8
Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
9
For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 9
8
Am I saying this from a human perspective? Doesn't the law also say the same thing?
9
For it is written in the law of Moses, Do not muzzle an ox while it treads out grain. Is God really concerned about oxen?
New Living Translation
Chapter 9
8
Am I expressing merely a human opinion, or does the law say the same thing?
9
For the law of Moses says, 'You must not muzzle an ox to keep it from eating as it treads out the grain.' Was God thinking only about oxen when he said this?
English Standard Version
Chapter 9
8
Do I say these things on human authority? Does not the Law say the same?
9
For it is written in the Law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain.” Is it for oxen that God is concerned?
New International Version
Chapter 9
8
Do I say this merely on human authority? Doesn't the Law say the same thing?
9
For it is written in the Law of Moses: 'Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.' Is it about oxen that God is concerned?
New King James Version
Chapter 9
8
Do I say these things as a
mere
man? Or does not the law say the same also?
9
For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about?
