1 Corinthians 5:8-10
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 5
8
Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9
I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people;
10
I
did
not at all
mean
with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the greedy and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to leave the world.
King James Version
Chapter 5
8
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened
bread
of sincerity and truth.
9
I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10
Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 5
8
Therefore, let us observe the feast, not with old leaven or with the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9
I wrote to you in a letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.
10
I did not mean the immoral people of this world or the greedy and swindlers or idolaters; otherwise you would have to leave the world.
New Living Translation
Chapter 5
8
So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.
9
When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin.
10
But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that.
English Standard Version
Chapter 5
8
Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9
I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—
10
not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
New International Version
Chapter 5
8
Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9
I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people--
10
not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.
New King James Version
Chapter 5
8
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened
bread
of sincerity and truth.
9
I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people.
10
Yet
I
certainly
did
not
mean
with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
