1 Corinthians 12:23-25
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 12
23
and those
parts
of the body which we consider less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor, and our less presentable parts become much more presentable,
24
whereas our more presentable parts have no need
of it.
But God has
so
composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that
part
which lacked,
25
so that there may be no division in the body, but
that
the parts may have the same care for one another.
King James Version
Chapter 12
23
And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24
For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
25
That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 12
23
And those parts of the body that we consider less honorable, we clothe these with greater honor, and our unrespectable parts are treated with greater respect,
24
which our respectable parts do not need. Instead, God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable,
25
so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other.
New Living Translation
Chapter 12
23
And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen,
24
while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity.
25
This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other.
English Standard Version
Chapter 12
23
and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty,
24
which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it,
25
that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
New International Version
Chapter 12
23
and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty,
24
while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
25
so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.
New King James Version
Chapter 12
23
And those
members
of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable
parts
have greater modesty,
24
but our presentable
parts
have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that
part
which lacks it,
25
that there should be no schism in the body, but
that
the members should have the same care for one another.
