1 Chronicles 29:15-17
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 29
15
For we are strangers before You, and temporary residents, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope.
16
Lord
our God, all this abundance that we have provided to build You a house for Your holy name, it is from Your hand, and everything is Yours.
17
Since I know, my God, that You put the heart to the test and delight in uprightness, I, in the integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these
things;
so now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here, make
their
offerings willingly to You.
King James Version
Chapter 29
15
For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.
16
O
Lord
our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.
17
I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 29
15
For we are aliens and temporary residents in your presence as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.
16
Lord
our God, all this wealth that we’ve provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand; everything belongs to you.
17
I know, my God, that you test the heart and that you are pleased with what is right. I have willingly given all these things with an upright heart, and now I have seen your people who are present here giving joyfully and willingly to you.
New Living Translation
Chapter 29
15
We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.
16
'O
Lord
our God, even this material we have gathered to build a Temple to honor your holy name comes from you! It all belongs to you!
17
I know, my God, that you examine our hearts and rejoice when you find integrity there. You know I have done all this with good motives, and I have watched your people offer their gifts willingly and joyously.
English Standard Version
Chapter 29
15
For we are strangers before you and sojourners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.
16
O
Lord
our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand and is all your own.
17
I know, my God, that you test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen your people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to you.
New International Version
Chapter 29
15
We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.
16
Lord
our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.
17
I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.
New King James Version
Chapter 29
15
For we
are
aliens and pilgrims before You,
As
were
all our fathers;
Our days on earth
are
as a shadow,
And without hope.
16
“O
Lord
our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and
is
all Your own.
17
I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these
