Chapter 16

17He also confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, 18Saying, 'To you I will give the land of Canaan, As the portion of your inheritance.' 19When they were only a few in number, Very few, and strangers in it, 20And they wandered from nation to nation, And from one kingdom to another people, 21He allowed no one to oppress them, And He rebuked kings for their sakes, saying, 22'Do not touch My anointed ones, And do not harm My prophets.' 23Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim good news of His salvation from day to day. 24Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. 25For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He also is to be feared above all gods.

17And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, 18Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance; 19When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it. 20And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; 21He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, 22Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. 23Sing unto the Lord, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation. 24Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations. 25For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

18"I will give the land of Canaan to you as your inherited portion." 19When they were few in number, very few indeed, and resident aliens in Canaan 20wandering from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another, 21he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their behalf:
22"Do not touch my anointed ones or harm my prophets." 23Let the whole earth sing to the Lord. Proclaim his salvation from day to day.
24Declare his glory among the nations, his wondrous works among all peoples. 25For the Lord is great and highly praised; he is feared above all gods.

Chapter 16

17He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant: 18'I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.'
19He said this when you were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan. 20They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. 21Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf: 22'Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.'
23Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. 24Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. 25Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.
