Chapter 11

7Then David lived in the stronghold; therefore it was called the city of David. 8He built the city all around, from the Millo to the surrounding area; and Joab repaired the rest of the city. 9And David became greater and greater, for the Lord of armies was with him.
10Now these are the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who remained faithful to him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, in accordance with the word of the Lord concerning Israel.

7And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David. 8And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city. 9So David waxed greater and greater: for the Lord of hosts was with him. 10These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.

7Then David took up residence in the stronghold; therefore, it was called the city of David. 8He built up the city all the way around, from the supporting terraces to the surrounding parts, and Joab restored the rest of the city. 9David steadily grew more powerful, and the Lord of Armies was with him.
10The following were the chiefs of David’s warriors who, together with all Israel, strongly supported him in his reign to make him king according to the Lord’s word about Israel.

7David made the fortress his home, and that is why it is called the City of David. 8He extended the city from the supporting terraces to the surrounding area, while Joab rebuilt the rest of Jerusalem. 9And David became more and more powerful, because the Lord of Heaven’s Armies was with him.
