Jeremiah 42:20
ESV that you have gone astray at the cost of your lives. For you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, ‘Pray for us to the LORD our God, and whatever the LORD our God says, declare to us and we will do it.’
NIV that you made a fatal mistake when you sent me to the LORD your God and said, 'Pray to the LORD our God for us; tell us everything he says and we will do it.'
NASB For you have only deceived yourselves; for it is you who sent me to the Lord your God, saying, 'Pray for us to the Lord our God; and whatever the Lord our God says, tell us so, and we will do it.'
CSB You have gone astray at the cost of your lives because you are the ones who sent me to the Lord your God, saying, 'Pray to the Lord our God on our behalf, and as for all that the Lord our God says, tell it to us, and we'll act accordingly.'
