What does Exodus 25:24 mean?
When describing the ark of the covenant, God commanded it to be made of gilded wood, including a decorative border (Exodus 25:10–11). The sacred table is much the same (Exodus 25:23). This table will have an ornate rim (Exodus 25:25) and rings so it can be carried with poles (Exodus 25:26–28). This table will also hold a series of solid gold utensils (Exodus 25:29).The primary purpose of the golden table is to hold twelve loaves of ceremonial bread (Exodus 25:30). Priests will use these (Leviticus 24:5–7) for special purposes (Leviticus 24:8–9). These loaves are called "the bread of the Presence."
