Zechariah 4:4-7
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
4
Then I said to the angel who was speaking with me, saying, 'What are these, my lord?'
5
So the angel who was speaking with me answered and said to me, 'Do you not know what these are?' And I said, 'No, my lord.'
6
Then he said to me, 'This is the word of the
Lord
to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the
Lord
of armies.
7
‘What are you, you great mountain? Before Zerubbabel
you will become
a plain; and he will bring out the top stone
with
shouts of 'Grace, grace to it!'?’?'
King James Version
Chapter 4
4
So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
5
Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the
Lord
unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the
Lord
of hosts.
7
Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 4
4
Then I asked the angel who was speaking with me, "What are these, my lord?"
5
"Don’t you know what they are?" replied the angel who was speaking with me. I said, "No, my lord."
6
So he answered me, "This is the word of the
Lord
to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength or by might, but by my Spirit,’ says the
Lord
of Armies.
7
‘What are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. And he will bring out the capstone accompanied by shouts of: Grace, grace to it!’"
New Living Translation
Chapter 4
4
Then I asked the angel, 'What are these, my lord? What do they mean?'
5
Don’t you know?' the angel asked. 'No, my lord,' I replied.
6
Then he said to me, 'This is what the
Lord
says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies.
7
Nothing, not even a mighty mountain, will stand in Zerubbabel’s way; it will become a level plain before him! And when Zerubbabel sets the final stone of the Temple in place, the people will shout: ‘May God bless it! May God bless it!’ '
