Zechariah 3:1-7
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
1
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the
Lord
, and Satan standing at his right to accuse him.
2
And the
Lord
said to Satan, 'The
Lord
rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the
Lord
who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a log snatched from the fire?'
3
Now Joshua was clothed in filthy garments and was standing before the angel.
4
And he responded and said to those who were standing before him, saying, 'Remove the filthy garments from him.' Again he said to him, 'See, I have taken your guilt away from you and will clothe you with festive robes.'
5
Then I said, 'Have them put a clean headband on his head.' So they put the clean headband on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the
Lord
was standing by.
6
And the angel of the
Lord
admonished Joshua, saying,
7
The
Lord
of armies says this: ‘If you walk in My ways and perform My service, then you will both govern My house and be in charge of My courtyards, and I will grant you free access among these who are standing
here.
King James Version
Chapter 3
1
And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the
Lord
, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
2
And the
Lord
said unto Satan, The
Lord
rebuke thee, O Satan; even the
Lord
that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
3
Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
4
And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
5
And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the
Lord
stood by.
6
And the angel of the
Lord
protested unto Joshua, saying,
7
Thus saith the
Lord
of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

Chapter 3
1
Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before the angel of the
Lord
, with Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.
2
The
Lord
said to Satan: "The
Lord
rebuke you, Satan! May the
Lord
who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?"
3
Now Joshua was dressed with filthy clothes as he stood before the angel.
4
So the angel of the
Lord
spoke to those standing before him, "Take off his filthy clothes!" Then he said to him, "See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with festive robes."
5
Then I said, "Let them put a clean turban on his head." So a clean turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him in garments while the angel of the
Lord
was standing nearby.
6
Then the angel of the
Lord
charged Joshua:
7
"This is what the
Lord
of Armies says: If you walk in my ways and keep my mandates, you will both rule my house and take care of my courts; I will also grant you access among these who are standing here.
New Living Translation
Chapter 3
1
Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the
Lord
. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua.
2
And the
Lord
said to Satan, 'I, the
Lord
, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the
Lord
, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.'
3
Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel.
4
So the angel said to the others standing there, 'Take off his filthy clothes.' And turning to Jeshua he said, 'See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.'
5
Then I said, 'They should also place a clean turban on his head.' So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the
Lord
stood by.
6
Then the angel of the
Lord
spoke very solemnly to Jeshua and said,
7
This is what the
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies says: If you follow my ways and carefully serve me, then you will be given authority over my Temple and its courtyards. I will let you walk among these others standing here.
