Chapter 7
1Or do you not know, brothers and sisters (for I am speaking to those who know the Law), that the Law has jurisdiction over a person as long as he lives? 2For the married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he is alive; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law concerning the husband.King James Version
Chapter 7
1Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
1Since I am speaking to those who know the law, brothers and sisters, don't you know that the law rules over someone as long as he lives? 2For example, a married woman is legally bound to her husband while he lives. But if her husband dies, she is released from the law regarding the husband.New Living Translation
Chapter 7
1Now, dear brothers and sisters — you who are familiar with the law — don’t you know that the law applies only while a person is living? 2For example, when a woman marries, the law binds her to her husband as long as he is alive. But if he dies, the laws of marriage no longer apply to her.English Standard Version
