Romans 14:19-22
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 14
19So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. 20Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the person who eats and causes offense. 21It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother or sister stumbles. 22The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is the one who does not condemn himself in what he approves.King James Version
Chapter 14
19Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. 20For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. 21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. 22Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 14
19So then, let us pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another. 20Do not tear down God's work because of food. Everything is clean, but it is wrong to make someone fall by what he eats. 21It is a good thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother or sister stumble. 22Whatever you believe about these things, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.New Living Translation
20Don’t tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, all foods are acceptable, but it is wrong to eat something if it makes another person stumble.
21It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another believer to stumble.
22You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right.
English Standard Version
20Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats.
21It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.
22The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves.
