Romans 11:18-21
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 11
18do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. 19You will say then, 'Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.' 20Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; 21for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either.King James Version
Chapter 11
18Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 11
18do not boast that you are better than those branches. But if you do boast--you do not sustain the root, but the root sustains you. 19Then you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in." 20True enough; they were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but beware, 21because if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.New Living Translation
19Well,' you may say, 'those branches were broken off to make room for me.'
20Yes, but remember — those branches were broken off because they didn’t believe in Christ, and you are there because you do believe. So don’t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen.
21For if God did not spare the original branches, he won’t spare you either.
English Standard Version
Chapter 11
18do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 19Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.New International Version
