Revelation 5:2-5
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 5
2
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, 'Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?'
3
And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it.
4
Then I
began
to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
5
And one of the elders *said to me, 'Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome
so as to be able
to open the scroll and its seven seals.'
King James Version
Chapter 5
2
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3
And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4
And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 5
2
I also saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?"
3
But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it.
4
I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look in it.
5
Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Look, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered so that he is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."
New Living Translation
Chapter 5
2
And I saw a strong angel, who shouted with a loud voice: 'Who is worthy to break the seals on this scroll and open it?'
3
But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll and read it.
4
Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it.
5
But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, 'Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.'
English Standard Version
