So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons that they may keep their priesthood, but the layman who comes near shall be put to death.'

And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest's office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

You are to appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out their priestly responsibilities, but any unauthorized person who comes near the sanctuary is to be put to death."
