Numbers 31:21-29
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 31
21Then Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who had gone to battle, 'This is the statute of the Law which the Lord has commanded Moses: 22only the gold and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead, 23everything that can withstand the fire, you shall pass through the fire, and it will be clean, only it shall be purified with water for impurity. But whatever cannot withstand the fire you shall pass through the water. 24And you shall wash your clothes on the seventh day and you will be clean; and afterward you may enter the camp.'
25Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
26You and Eleazar the priest and the heads of the fathers’ households of the congregation take a count of the spoils that were captured, both of people and of livestock;
27and divide the spoils between the warriors who went to battle and all the congregation.
28Also, collect a tribute tax for the Lord from the men of war who went to battle, one in five hundred of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the sheep;
29take it from their half and give it to Eleazar the priest, as an offering to the Lord.
King James Version
Chapter 31
21And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses; 22Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead, 23Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water. 24And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
25And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
26Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
27And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
28And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:
29Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.

Chapter 31
21Then the priest Eleazar said to the soldiers who had gone to battle, "This is the legal statute the Lord commanded Moses: 22The gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, and lead-- 23everything that can withstand fire--you are to pass through fire, and it will be clean. It must still be purified with the purification water. Anything that cannot withstand fire, pass through the water. 24On the seventh day wash your clothes, and you will be clean. After that you may enter the camp."
25The Lord told Moses,
26"You, the priest Eleazar, and the family heads of the community are to take a count of what was captured, people and animals.
27Then divide the captives between the troops who went out to war and the entire community.
28Set aside a tribute for the Lord from what belongs to the fighting men who went out to war: one out of every five hundred people, cattle, donkeys, sheep, and goats.
29Take the tribute from their half and give it to the priest Eleazar as a contribution to the Lord.
New Living Translation
Chapter 31
21Then Eleazar the priest said to the men who were in the battle, 'The Lord has given Moses this legal requirement: 22Anything made of gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, or lead — 23that is, all metals that do not burn — must be passed through fire in order to be made ceremonially pure. These metal objects must then be further purified with the water of purification. But everything that burns must be purified by the water alone. 24On the seventh day you must wash your clothes and be purified. Then you may return to the camp.'
25And the Lord said to Moses,
26You and Eleazar the priest and the family leaders of each tribe are to make a list of all the plunder taken in the battle, including the people and animals.
27Then divide the plunder into two parts, and give half to the men who fought the battle and half to the rest of the people.
28From the army’s portion, first give the Lord his share of the plunder — one of every 500 of the prisoners and of the cattle, donkeys, sheep, and goats.
29Give this share of the army’s half to Eleazar the priest as an offering to the Lord.

28And levy for the LORD a tribute from the men of war who went out to battle, one out of five hundred, of the people and of the oxen and of the donkeys and of the flocks.

Chapter 31
21Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, 'This is what is required by the law that the LORD gave Moses: 22Gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, lead 23and anything else that can withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire must be put through that water. 24On the seventh day wash your clothes and you will be clean. Then you may come into the camp.'
25The LORD said to Moses,
26You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community are to count all the people and animals that were captured.
27Divide the spoils equally between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community.
28From the soldiers who fought in the battle, set apart as tribute for the LORD one out of every five hundred, whether people, cattle, donkeys or sheep.
29Take this tribute from their half share and give it to Eleazar the priest as the LORD's part.
