Chapter 27

4Why should the name of our father be withdrawn from among his family simply because he had no son? Give us property among our father’s brothers.' 5So Moses brought their case before the Lord.
6Then the Lord said to Moses, 7The daughters of Zelophehad are right about their statements. You shall certainly give them hereditary property among their father’s brothers, and you shall transfer the inheritance of their father to them.

4Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
5And Moses brought their cause before the Lord. 6And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 7The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.

5So Moses brought their case before the Lord. 6And the Lord replied to Moses, 7The claim of the daughters of Zelophehad is legitimate. You must give them a grant of land along with their father’s relatives. Assign them the property that would have been given to their father.
