Numbers 1:45-49
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
45
So all the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households, from twenty years old and upward, whoever
was able to
go to war in Israel,
46
all the numbered men were 603,550.
47
The Levites, however, were not counted among them by their fathers’ tribe.
48
For the
Lord
had spoken to Moses, saying,
49
Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, nor shall you take their census among the sons of Israel.
King James Version
Chapter 1
45
So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46
Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47
But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48
For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,
49
Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 1
45
So all the Israelites twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in Israel's army, were registered by their ancestral families.
46
All those registered numbered 603,550.
47
But the Levites were not registered with them by their ancestral tribe.
48
For the Lord had told Moses,
49
"Do not register or take a census of the tribe of Levi with the other Israelites.
New Living Translation
Chapter 1
45
They were registered by families — all the men of Israel who were twenty years old or older and able to go to war.
46
The total number was 603,550.
47
But this total did not include the Levites.
48
For the
Lord
had said to Moses,
49
Do not include the tribe of Levi in the registration; do not count them with the rest of the Israelites.
English Standard Version
Chapter 1
45
So all those listed of the people of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war in Israel—
46
all those listed were 603,550.
47
But the Levites were not listed along with them by their ancestral tribe.
48
For the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
49
“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not list, and you shall not take a census of them among the people of Israel.
New International Version

46
The total number was 603,550.
47
The ancestral tribe of the Levites, however, was not counted along with the others.
48
The LORD had said to Moses:
49
You must not count the tribe of Levi or include them in the census of the other Israelites.

for the
Lord
had spoken to Moses, saying:

“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, nor take a census of them among the children of Israel;
