Chapter 17
3and write Aaron’s name on the staff of Levi; for there is to be one staff for the head of each of their fathers’ households. 4You shall then leave them in the tent of meeting in front of the testimony, where I meet with you. 5And it will come about that the staff of the man whom I choose will sprout. So I will relieve Myself of the grumblings of the sons of Israel, who are grumbling against you.' 6So Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and all their leaders gave him a staff, one for each leader, for their fathers’ households, twelve staffs in all, with the staff of Aaron among their staffs. 7Then Moses left the staffs before the Lord in the tent of the testimony.King James Version
Chapter 17
3And thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. 4And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. 5And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you. 6And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. 7And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness.Christian Standard Bible

3Write Aaron's name on Levi's staff, because there is to be one staff for the head of each tribe. 4Then place them in the tent of meeting in front of the testimony where I meet with you. 5The staff of the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid myself of the Israelites' complaints that they have been making about you."New Living Translation
Chapter 17
3Inscribe Aaron’s name on the staff of the tribe of Levi, for there must be one staff for the leader of each ancestral tribe. 4Place these staffs in the Tabernacle in front of the Ark containing the tablets of the Covenant, where I meet with you. 5Buds will sprout on the staff belonging to the man I choose. Then I will finally put an end to the people’s murmuring and complaining against you.'
6So Moses gave the instructions to the people of Israel, and each of the twelve tribal leaders, including Aaron, brought Moses a staff.
7Moses placed the staffs in the Lord’s presence in the Tabernacle of the Covenant.
8When he went into the Tabernacle of the Covenant the next day, he found that Aaron’s staff, representing the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, budded, blossomed, and produced ripe almonds!
