Numbers 15:25-41
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 15
25Then the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and they will be forgiven; for it was an unintentional wrong, and they have brought their offering, an offering by fire to the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord, for their unintentional wrong. 26So all the congregation of the sons of Israel will be forgiven, as well as the stranger who resides among them, for guilt was attributed to all the people through an unintentional wrong.
27‘Also, if one person sins unintentionally, then he shall offer a one-year-old female goat as a sin offering.
28And the priest shall make atonement before the Lord for the person who goes astray by an unintentional sin, making atonement for him so that he may be forgiven.
29You shall have one law for the native among the sons of Israel and for the stranger who resides among them, for one who does anything wrong unintentionally.
30But the person who does wrong defiantly, whether he is a native or a stranger, that one is blaspheming the Lord; and that person shall be cut off from among his people.
31Since he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.’?'
32Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
33And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation;
34and they placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him.
35Then the Lord said to Moses, 'The man must be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.'
36So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
37The Lord also spoke to Moses, saying,
38Speak to the sons of Israel and tell them that they shall make for themselves tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a violet thread.
39It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the Lord, so that you will do them and not follow your own heart and your own eyes, which led you to prostitute yourselves,
40so that you will remember and do all My commandments and be holy to your God.
41I am the Lord your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the Lord your God.'
King James Version
Chapter 15
25And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance: 26And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance. 27And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering. 28And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. 29Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
30But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
31Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
32And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
33And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
34And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
35And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.
36And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.
37And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
38Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
39And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
40That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
41I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.

Chapter 15
25The priest will then make atonement for the entire Israelite community so that they may be forgiven, for the sin was unintentional. They are to bring their offering, a food offering to the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord for their unintentional sin. 26The entire Israelite community and the alien who resides among them will be forgiven, since it happened to all the people unintentionally.
27"If one person sins unintentionally, he is to present a year-old female goat as a sin offering.
28The priest will then make atonement before the Lord on behalf of the person who acts in error sinning unintentionally, and when he makes atonement for him, he will be forgiven.
29You are to have the same law for the person who acts in error, whether he is an Israelite or an alien who resides among you.
30"But the person who acts defiantly, whether native or resident alien, blasphemes the Lord. That person is to be cut off from his people.
31He will certainly be cut off, because he has despised the Lord's word and broken his command; his guilt remains on him."
32While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
33Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the entire community.
34They placed him in custody because it had not been decided what should be done to him.
35Then the Lord told Moses, "The man is to be put to death. The entire community is to stone him outside the camp."
36So the entire community brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
37The Lord said to Moses,
38"Speak to the Israelites and tell them that throughout their generations they are to make tassels for the corners of their garments, and put a blue cord on the tassel at each corner.
39These will serve as tassels for you to look at, so that you may remember all the Lord's commands and obey them and not prostitute yourselves by following your own heart and your own eyes.
40This way you will remember and obey all my commands and be holy to your God.
41I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the Lord your God."
New Living Translation
Chapter 15
25With it the priest will purify the whole community of Israel, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven. For it was an unintentional sin, and they have corrected it with their offerings to the Lord — the special gift and the sin offering. 26The whole community of Israel will be forgiven, including the foreigners living among you, for all the people were involved in the sin.
27If one individual commits an unintentional sin, the guilty person must bring a one-year-old female goat for a sin offering.
28The priest will sacrifice it to purify the guilty person before the Lord, and that person will be forgiven.
29These same instructions apply both to native-born Israelites and to the foreigners living among you.
30But those who brazenly violate the Lord’s will, whether native-born Israelites or foreigners, have blasphemed the Lord, and they must be cut off from the community.
31Since they have treated the Lord’s word with contempt and deliberately disobeyed his command, they must be completely cut off and suffer the punishment for their guilt.'
32One day while the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they discovered a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
33The people who found him doing this took him before Moses, Aaron, and the rest of the community.
34They held him in custody because they did not know what to do with him.
35Then the Lord said to Moses, 'The man must be put to death! The whole community must stone him outside the camp.'
36So the whole community took the man outside the camp and stoned him to death, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
37Then the Lord said to Moses,
38Give the following instructions to the people of Israel: Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing and attach them with a blue cord.
39When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.
40The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God.
41I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your God. I am the Lord your God!'

Chapter 15
25And the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the people of Israel, and they shall be forgiven, because it was a mistake, and they have brought their offering, a food offering to the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD for their mistake. 26And all the congregation of the people of Israel shall be forgiven, and the stranger who sojourns among them, because the whole population was involved in the mistake.
27“If one person sins unintentionally, he shall offer a female goat a year old for a sin offering.
28And the priest shall make atonement before the LORD for the person who makes a mistake, when he sins unintentionally, to make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.
29You shall have one law for him who does anything unintentionally, for him who is native among the people of Israel and for the stranger who sojourns among them.
30But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native or a sojourner, reviles the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.
31Because he has despised the word of the LORD and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be on him.”
32While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.
33And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation.
34They put him in custody, because it had not been made clear what should be done to him.
35And the LORD said to Moses, “The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”
36And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, as the LORD commanded Moses.
37The LORD said to Moses,
38“Speak to the people of Israel, and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner.
39And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after.
40So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God.
41I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD your God.”

Chapter 15
25The priest is to make atonement for the whole Israelite community, and they will be forgiven, for it was not intentional and they have presented to the LORD for their wrong a food offering and a sin offering. 26The whole Israelite community and the foreigners residing among them will be forgiven, because all the people were involved in the unintentional wrong.
27'But if just one person sins unintentionally, that person must bring a year-old female goat for a sin offering.
28The priest is to make atonement before the LORD for the one who erred by sinning unintentionally, and when atonement has been made, that person will be forgiven.
29One and the same law applies to everyone who sins unintentionally, whether a native-born Israelite or a foreigner residing among you.
30'But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or foreigner, blasphemes the LORD and must be cut off from the people of Israel.
31Because they have despised the LORD's word and broken his commands, they must surely be cut off; their guilt remains on them.''
32While the Israelites were in the wilderness, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
33Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly,
34and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him.
35Then the LORD said to Moses, 'The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp.'
36So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.
37The LORD said to Moses,
38Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments, with a blue cord on each tassel.
39You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the LORD, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes.
40Then you will remember to obey all my commands and will be consecrated to your God.
41I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.''
