Numbers 11:7-10
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 11
7
Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like that of bdellium.
8
The people would roam about and gather
it
and grind
it
between two millstones, or pound
it
in the mortar, and boil
it
in the pot and make loaves with it; and its taste was like the taste of cake
baked with
oil.
9
When the dew came down on the camp at night, the manna would come down with it.
10
Now Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, each one at the entrance of his tent; and the anger of the
Lord
became very hot, and Moses was displeased.
King James Version
Chapter 11
7
And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.
8
And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
9
And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.
10
Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the
Lord
was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 11
7
The manna resembled coriander seed, and its appearance was like that of bdellium.
8
The people walked around and gathered it. They ground it on a pair of grinding stones or crushed it in a mortar, then boiled it in a cooking pot and shaped it into cakes. It tasted like a pastry cooked with the finest oil.
9
When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna would fall with it.
10
Moses heard the people, family after family, weeping at the entrance of their tents. The
Lord
was very angry; Moses was also provoked.
New Living Translation
Chapter 11
7
The manna looked like small coriander seeds, and it was pale yellow like gum resin.
8
The people would go out and gather it from the ground. They made flour by grinding it with hand mills or pounding it in mortars. Then they boiled it in a pot and made it into flat cakes. These cakes tasted like pastries baked with olive oil.
9
The manna came down on the camp with the dew during the night.
10
Moses heard all the families standing in the doorways of their tents whining, and the
Lord
became extremely angry. Moses was also very aggravated.
English Standard Version
