Nehemiah 6:11-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
11
But I said, 'Should a man like me flee? And who is there like me who would go into the temple to save his own life? I will not go in.'
12
Then I realized that God certainly had not sent him, but he uttered
his
prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
King James Version
Chapter 6
11
And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who
is there
, that,
being
as I
am
, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
12
And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 6
11
But I said, "Should a man like me run away? How can someone like me enter the temple and live? I will not go."
12
I realized that God had not sent him, because of the prophecy he spoke against me. Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
New Living Translation
Chapter 6
11
But I replied, 'Should someone in my position run from danger? Should someone in my position enter the Temple to save his life? No, I won’t do it!'
12
I realized that God had not spoken to him, but that he had uttered this prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
English Standard Version
Chapter 6
11
But I said, “Should such a man as I run away? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live? I will not go in.”
12
And I understood and saw that God had not sent him, but he had pronounced the prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
New International Version
Chapter 6
11
But I said, 'Should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!'
12
I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
New King James Version
Chapter 6
11
And I said, “Should such a man as I flee? And who
is there
such as I who would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!”
12
Then I perceived that God had not sent him at all, but that he pronounced
this
prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
