Nehemiah 11:19-22
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 11
19
Also the gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon, and their kinsmen who kept watch at the gates,
were
172.
20
The rest of Israel, of the priests
and
of the Levites,
were
in all the cities of Judah, each on his own inheritance.
21
But the temple servants were living in Ophel, and Ziha and Gishpa were in charge of the temple servants.
22
Now the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica, from the sons of Asaph,
who were
the singers for the service of the house of God.
King James Version
Chapter 11
19
Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundred seventy and two.
20
And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.
21
But the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel: and Ziha and Gispa were over the Nethinims.
22
The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 11
19
The gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon, and their relatives, who guarded the city gates: 172.
20
The rest of Israel, the priests, and the Levites were in all the villages of Judah, each on his own inherited property.
21
The temple servants lived on Ophel; Ziha and Gishpa supervised the temple servants.
22
The leader of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Mica, of the descendants of Asaph, who were singers for the service of God’s house.
New Living Translation
Chapter 11
19
From the gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon, and 172 of their associates, who guarded the gates.
20
The other priests, Levites, and the rest of the Israelites lived wherever their family inheritance was located in any of the towns of Judah.
21
The Temple servants, however, whose leaders were Ziha and Gishpa, all lived on the hill of Ophel.
22
The chief officer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Mica, a descendant of Asaph, whose family served as singers at God’s Temple.
