Matthew 17:7-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 17
7And Jesus came to them and touched them and said, 'Get up, and do not be afraid.' 8And raising their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.
9When they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, 'Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.'
10And His disciples asked Him, 'Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?'
11And He answered and said, 'Elijah is coming and will restore all things;
12but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.'
King James Version
Chapter 17
7And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. 9And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. 10And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 11And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.Christian Standard Bible

9And as they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Tell no one the vision, until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”
10And the disciples asked him, “Then why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?”
11He answered, “Elijah does come, and he will restore all things.
12But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.”
