Mark 9:19-26
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
19
And He answered them and *said, 'O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!'
20
And they brought the boy to Him. When he saw Him, the spirit immediately threw him into convulsions, and falling to the ground, he
began
rolling around and foaming
at the mouth.
21
And He asked his father, 'How long has this been happening to him?' And he said, 'From childhood.
22
It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to kill him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!'
23
But Jesus said to him, '?‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes.'
24
Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, 'I do believe; help my unbelief!'
25
When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, 'You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again!'
26
And after crying out and throwing him into terrible convulsions, it came out; and
the boy
became so much like a corpse that most
of them
said, 'He is dead!'
King James Version
Chapter 9
19
He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you how long shall I suffer you bring him unto me.
20
And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21
And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him And he said, Of a child.
22
And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26
And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

Chapter 9
19
Jesus said to them, 'You faithless people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.'
20
So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth.
21
How long has this been happening?' Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, 'Since he was a little boy.
22
The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.'
23
What do you mean, ‘If I can’?' Jesus asked. 'Anything is possible if a person believes.'
24
The father instantly cried out, 'I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!'
25
When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. 'Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,' he said. 'I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!'
26
Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, 'He’s dead.'
