Mark 4:16-18
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
16And in a similar way these are the ones sown with seed on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy; 17and yet they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution occurs because of the word, immediately they fall away. 18And others are the ones sown with seed among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word,King James Version
Chapter 4
16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 4
16And others are like seed sown on rocky ground. When they hear the word, immediately they receive it with joy. 17But they have no root; they are short-lived. When distress or persecution comes because of the word, they immediately fall away. 18Others are like seed sown among thorns; these are the ones who hear the word,New Living Translation
Chapter 4
16The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. 17But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word. 18The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word,English Standard Version
