saying, 'Look! He is calling for Elijah!'

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

And some of them that stood by, when they heard
it
, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

And at three Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lemá sabachtháni? " which is translated, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? "

When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "See, he's calling for Elijah."
New Living Translation
Chapter 15

Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice,
'Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?'
which means 'My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?'

Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah.
English Standard Version

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

And some of the bystanders hearing it said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.”

When some of those standing near heard this, they said, 'Listen, he's calling Elijah.'
