Mark 15:1-10
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 15
1Early in the morning the chief priests with the elders, scribes, and the entire Council immediately held a consultation; and they bound Jesus and led Him away, and turned Him over to Pilate. 2Pilate questioned Him: 'So You are the King of the Jews?' And He answered him, 'It is as you say.' 3And the chief priests started accusing Him of many things. 4But Pilate questioned Him again, saying, 'Do You offer nothing in answer? See how many charges they are bringing against You!' 5But Jesus said nothing further in answer, so Pilate was amazed.
6Now at the Passover Feast he used to release for them any one prisoner whom they requested.
7And the one named Barabbas had been imprisoned with the rebels who had committed murder in the revolt.
8And the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to do as he had been accustomed to do for them.
9Pilate answered them, saying, 'Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?'
10For he was aware that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy.

Chapter 15
1And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate. 2And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it. 3And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. 4And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. 5But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. 6Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired. 7And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 8And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. 9But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 10For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.Christian Standard Bible

7There was one named Barabbas, who was in prison with rebels who had committed murder during the rebellion.
8The crowd came up and began to ask Pilate to do for them as was his custom.
9Pilate answered them, "Do you want me to release the king of the Jews for you? "
10For he knew it was because of envy that the chief priests had handed him over.

6Now it was the governor’s custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner — anyone the people requested.
7One of the prisoners at that time was Barabbas, a revolutionary who had committed murder in an uprising.
8The crowd went to Pilate and asked him to release a prisoner as usual.

7And among the rebels in prison, who had committed murder in the insurrection, there was a man called Barabbas.
8And the crowd came up and began to ask Pilate to do as he usually did for them.
