Chapter 15

8And the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to do as he had been accustomed to do for them. 9Pilate answered them, saying, 'Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?' 10For he was aware that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. 11But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to ask him to release Barabbas for them instead.

8And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. 9But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 10For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.
11But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

8The crowd went to Pilate and asked him to release a prisoner as usual.
9Would you like me to release to you this ‘King of the Jews’?' Pilate asked. 10(For he realized by now that the leading priests had arrested Jesus out of envy.) 11But at this point the leading priests stirred up the crowd to demand the release of Barabbas instead of Jesus.
