Chapter 12
39and seats of honor in the synagogues, and places of honor at banquets, 40who devour widows’ houses, and for appearance’s sake offer long prayers. These will receive all the more condemnation.'
41And Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and began watching how the people were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large amounts.
42And a poor widow came and put in two lepta coins, which amount to a quadrans.
43Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, 'Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury;

39And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: 40Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
41And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

41Sitting across from the temple treasury, he watched how the crowd dropped money into the treasury. Many rich people were putting in large sums.
42Then a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little.
43Summoning his disciples, he said to them, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.
