Chapter 27
3If your assessment is of a male from twenty years even to sixty years old, then your assessment shall be fifty shekels of silver, by the shekel of the sanctuary. 4Or if the person is a female, then your assessment shall be thirty shekels. 5And if the person is from five years even to twenty years old, then your assessment for a male shall be twenty shekels, and for a female, ten shekels. 6But if the person is from a month even up to five years old, then your assessment shall be five shekels of silver for a male, and for a female your assessment shall be three shekels of silver. 7If the person is from sixty years old and upward, if a male, then your assessment shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female, ten shekels. 8But if he is poorer than your assessment, then he shall be presented before the priest, and the priest shall assess him; according to the means of the one who vowed, the priest shall assess him.
9‘Now if it is an animal of the kind that one can present as an offering to the Lord, any such animal that one gives to the Lord shall be holy.
10He shall not replace it nor exchange it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; yet if he does exchange animal for animal, then both it and its substitute shall become holy.
11If, however, it is any unclean animal of the kind which one does not present as an offering to the Lord, then he shall place the animal before the priest.
12And the priest shall assess it as either good or bad; as you, the priest, assess it, so shall it be.
13But if he should ever want to redeem it, then he shall add a fifth of it to your assessment.

3if the assessment concerns a male from twenty to sixty years old, your assessment is fifty silver shekels measured by the standard sanctuary shekel. 4If the person is a female, your assessment is thirty shekels. 5If the person is from five to twenty years old, your assessment for a male is twenty shekels and for a female ten shekels. 6If the person is from one month to five years old, your assessment for a male is five silver shekels, and for a female your assessment is three shekels of silver. 7If the person is sixty years or more, your assessment is fifteen shekels for a male and ten shekels for a female. 8But if one is too poor to pay the assessment, he is to present the person before the priest and the priest will set a value for him. The priest will set a value for him according to what the one making the vow can afford.
9"If the vow involves one of the animals that may be brought as an offering to the Lord, any of these he gives to the Lord will be holy.
10He may not replace it or make a substitution for it, either good for bad, or bad for good. But if he does substitute one animal for another, both that animal and its substitute will be holy.
11"If the vow involves any of the unclean animals that may not be brought as an offering to the Lord, the animal must be presented before the priest.
12The priest will set its value, whether high or low; the price will be set as the priest makes the assessment for you.
13If the one who brought it decides to redeem it, he must add a fifth to the assessed value.

3here is the scale of values to be used. A man between the ages of twenty and sixty is valued at fifty shekels of silver, as measured by the sanctuary shekel. 4A woman of that age is valued at thirty shekels of silver. 5A boy between the ages of five and twenty is valued at twenty shekels of silver; a girl of that age is valued at ten shekels of silver. 6A boy between the ages of one month and five years is valued at five shekels of silver; a girl of that age is valued at three shekels of silver. 7A man older than sixty is valued at fifteen shekels of silver; a woman of that age is valued at ten shekels of silver. 8If you desire to make such a vow but cannot afford to pay the required amount, take the person to the priest. He will determine the amount for you to pay based on what you can afford.
9If your vow involves giving an animal that is acceptable as an offering to the Lord, any gift to the Lord will be considered holy.
10You may not exchange or substitute it for another animal — neither a good animal for a bad one nor a bad animal for a good one. But if you do exchange one animal for another, then both the original animal and its substitute will be considered holy.
11If your vow involves an unclean animal — one that is not acceptable as an offering to the Lord — then you must bring the animal to the priest.
12He will assess its value, and his assessment will be final, whether high or low.
13If you want to buy back the animal, you must pay the value set by the priest, plus 20 percent.

10They must not exchange it or substitute a good one for a bad one, or a bad one for a good one; if they should substitute one animal for another, both it and the substitute become holy.
11If what they vowed is a ceremonially unclean animal--one that is not acceptable as an offering to the LORD--the animal must be presented to the priest,
12who will judge its quality as good or bad. Whatever value the priest then sets, that is what it will be.
13If the owner wishes to redeem the animal, a fifth must be added to its value.
