Chapter 23
30As for any person who does any work on this very day, that person I will eliminate from among his people. 31You shall not do any work. It is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places. 32It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble yourselves; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening, you shall keep your Sabbath.'
33Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
34Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the Lord.
35On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.
36For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the Lord; it is an assembly. You shall not do any laborious work.

30I will destroy among his people anyone who does any work on this same day. 31You are not to do any work. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live. 32It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must practice self-denial. You are to observe your Sabbath from the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening."
33The Lord spoke to Moses:
34"Tell the Israelites: The Festival of Shelters to the Lord begins on the fifteenth day of this seventh month and continues for seven days.
35There is to be a sacred assembly on the first day; you are not to do any daily work.
36You are to present a fire offering to the Lord for seven days. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present a fire offering to the Lord. It is a solemn gathering; you are not to do any daily work.

Chapter 23
30And I will destroy anyone among you who does any work on that day. 31You must not do any work at all! This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation wherever you live. 32This will be a Sabbath day of complete rest for you, and on that day you must deny yourselves. This day of rest will begin at sundown on the ninth day of the month and extend until sundown on the tenth day.'
33And the Lord said to Moses,
34Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. Begin celebrating the Festival of Shelters on the fifteenth day of the appointed month — five days after the Day of Atonement. This festival to the Lord will last for seven days.
35On the first day of the festival you must proclaim an official day for holy assembly, when you do no ordinary work.
36For seven days you must present special gifts to the Lord. The eighth day is another holy day on which you present your special gifts to the Lord. This will be a solemn occasion, and no ordinary work may be done that day.
