Leviticus 23:25-36

Chapter 23
25You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’?'
26Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
27On exactly the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble yourselves and present an offering by fire to the Lord.
28You shall not do any work on this very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the Lord your God.
29If there is any person who does not humble himself on this very day, he shall be cut off from his people.
30As for any person who does any work on this very day, that person I will eliminate from among his people.
31You shall not do any work. It is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.
32It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble yourselves; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening, you shall keep your Sabbath.'
33Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
34Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the Lord.
35On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.
36For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the Lord; it is an assembly. You shall not do any laborious work.

25Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 26And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 27Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 28And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. 29For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

26The Lord again spoke to Moses:
27"The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You are to hold a sacred assembly and practice self-denial; you are to present a food offering to the Lord.
28On this particular day you are not to do any work, for it is a Day of Atonement to make atonement for yourselves before the Lord your God.
29If any person does not practice self-denial on this particular day, he is to be cut off from his people.
30I will destroy among his people anyone who does any work on this same day.
31You are not to do any work. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live.
32It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must practice self-denial. You are to observe your Sabbath from the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening."
33The Lord spoke to Moses:
34"Tell the Israelites: The Festival of Shelters to the Lord begins on the fifteenth day of this seventh month and continues for seven days.
35There is to be a sacred assembly on the first day; you are not to do any daily work.
36You are to present a food offering to the Lord for seven days. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly; you are not to do any daily work.

Chapter 23
25You must do no ordinary work on that day. Instead, you are to present special gifts to the Lord.'
26Then the Lord said to Moses,
27Be careful to celebrate the Day of Atonement on the tenth day of that same month — nine days after the Festival of Trumpets. You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the Lord.
28Do no work during that entire day because it is the Day of Atonement, when offerings of purification are made for you, making you right with the Lord your God.
29All who do not deny themselves that day will be cut off from God’s people.
30And I will destroy anyone among you who does any work on that day.
31You must not do any work at all! This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation wherever you live.
32This will be a Sabbath day of complete rest for you, and on that day you must deny yourselves. This day of rest will begin at sundown on the ninth day of the month and extend until sundown on the tenth day.'
33And the Lord said to Moses,
34Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. Begin celebrating the Festival of Shelters on the fifteenth day of the appointed month — five days after the Day of Atonement. This festival to the Lord will last for seven days.
35On the first day of the festival you must proclaim an official day for holy assembly, when you do no ordinary work.
36For seven days you must present special gifts to the Lord. The eighth day is another holy day on which you present your special gifts to the Lord. This will be a solemn occasion, and no ordinary work may be done that day.
