Chapter 22
7But when the sun sets, he will be clean, and afterward he may eat of the holy gifts, for it is his food. 8He shall not eat an animal which dies or is torn by animals, becoming unclean by it; I am the Lord. 9They shall therefore perform their duty to Me, so that they do not bear sin because of it and die by it because they profane it; I am the Lord who sanctifies them.
10‘No layman, however, is to eat the holy gift; a foreign resident with the priest or a hired worker shall not eat the holy gift.
11But if a priest buys a slave as his property with his money, that person may eat of it, and those who are born in his house may eat of his food.
12If a priest’s daughter is married to a layman, she shall not eat of the offering of the holy gifts.
13But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or divorced, and has no child and returns to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s food; but no layman shall eat of it.
14If, however, someone eats a holy food unintentionally, then he shall add to it a fifth of it and shall give the holy food to the priest.
15And they shall not profane the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,
16and thereby bring upon them punishment for guilt by eating their holy gifts; for I am the Lord who sanctifies them.’?'

7And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food. 8That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am the LORD. 9They shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the LORD do sanctify them.
10There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.
11But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.
12If the priest's daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things.
13But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.
14And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.
15And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD;
16Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the LORD do sanctify them.

7When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the holy offerings, for that is his food. 8He must not eat an animal that died naturally or was mauled by wild beasts, making himself unclean by it; I am the Lord. 9They must keep my instruction, or they will be guilty and die because they profane it; I am the Lord who sets them apart.
10"No one outside a priest's family is to eat the holy offering. A foreigner staying with a priest or a hired worker is not to eat the holy offering.
11But if a priest purchases someone with his own silver, that person may eat it, and those born in his house may eat his food.
12If the priest's daughter is married to a man outside a priest's family, she is not to eat from the holy contributions.
13But if the priest's daughter becomes widowed or divorced, has no children, and returns to her father's house as in her youth, she may share her father's food. But no outsider may share it.
14If anyone eats a holy offering in error, he is to add a fifth to its value and give the holy offering to the priest.
15The priests must not profane the holy offerings the Israelites give to the Lord
16by letting the people eat their holy offerings and having them bear the penalty of restitution. For I am the Lord who sets them apart."

Chapter 22
7When the sun goes down, he will be ceremonially clean again and may eat from the sacred offerings, for this is his food. 8He may not eat an animal that has died a natural death or has been torn apart by wild animals, for this would defile him. I am the Lord.
10No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offerings. Even guests and hired workers in a priest’s home are not allowed to eat them.
11However, if the priest buys a slave for himself, the slave may eat from the sacred offerings. And if his slaves have children, they also may share his food.
12If a priest’s daughter marries someone outside the priestly family, she may no longer eat the sacred offerings.
13But if she becomes a widow or is divorced and has no children to support her, and she returns to live in her father’s home as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food again. Otherwise, no one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offerings.
14Any such person who eats the sacred offerings without realizing it must pay the priest for the amount eaten, plus an additional 20 percent.
15The priests must not let the Israelites defile the sacred offerings brought to the Lord
16by allowing unauthorized people to eat them. This would bring guilt upon them and require them to pay compensation. I am the Lord who makes them holy.'

10“A lay person shall not eat of a holy thing; no foreign guest of the priest or hired worker shall eat of a holy thing,
11but if a priest buys a slave as his property for money, the slave may eat of it, and anyone born in his house may eat of his food.
12If a priest’s daughter marries a layman, she shall not eat of the contribution of the holy things.
13But if a priest’s daughter is widowed or divorced and has no child and returns to her father’s house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s food; yet no lay person shall eat of it.

12If a priest's daughter marries anyone other than a priest, she may not eat any of the sacred contributions.
13But if a priest's daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, yet has no children, and she returns to live in her father's household as in her youth, she may eat her father's food. No unauthorized person, however, may eat it.
14'Anyone who eats a sacred offering by mistake must make restitution to the priest for the offering and add a fifth of the value to it.
15The priests must not desecrate the sacred offerings the Israelites present to the LORD

15They shall not profane the holy offerings of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,
16or allow them to bear the guilt of trespass when they eat their holy offerings; for I the Lord sanctify them.’ ”
