Leviticus 2:8-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 2
8
When you bring in the grain offering which is made of these things to the
Lord
, it shall be presented to the priest, and he shall bring it to the altar.
9
The priest then shall take up from the grain offering its memorial portion, and shall offer
it
up in smoke on the altar
as
an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the
Lord
.
10
The remainder of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons: a most holy part of the offerings to the
Lord
by fire.
11
‘No grain offering, which you bring to the
Lord
, shall be made with leaven, for you shall not offer up in smoke any leaven or any honey as an offering by fire to the
Lord
.
12
As an offering of first fruits you shall bring them to the
Lord
, but they shall not ascend as a soothing aroma on the altar.
King James Version
Chapter 2
8
And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the
Lord
: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.
9
And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the
Lord
.
10
And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the
Lord
made by fire.
11
No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the
Lord
, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the
Lord
made by fire.
12
As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the
Lord
: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 2
8
When you bring to the
Lord
the grain offering made in any of these ways, it is to be presented to the priest, and he will take it to the altar.
9
The priest will remove the memorial portion from the grain offering and burn it on the altar, a fire offering of a pleasing aroma to the
Lord
.
10
But the rest of the grain offering will belong to Aaron and his sons; it is the holiest part of the fire offerings to the
Lord
.
11
"No grain offering that you present to the
Lord
is to be made with yeast, for you are not to burn any yeast or honey as a fire offering to the
Lord
.
12
You may present them to the
Lord
as an offering of firstfruits, but they are not to be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma.
New Living Translation
Chapter 2
8
No matter how a grain offering for the
Lord
has been prepared, bring it to the priest, who will present it at the altar.
9
The priest will take a representative portion of the grain offering and burn it on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the
Lord
.
10
The rest of the grain offering will then be given to Aaron and his sons as their food. This offering will be considered a most holy part of the special gifts presented to the
Lord
.
11
Do not use yeast in preparing any of the grain offerings you present to the
Lord
, because no yeast or honey may be burned as a special gift presented to the
Lord
.
12
You may add yeast and honey to an offering of the first crops of your harvest, but these must never be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the
Lord
.
