Leviticus 10:8-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 10
8
The
Lord
then spoke to Aaron, saying,
9
Do not drink wine or strong drink, neither you nor your sons with you, when you come into the tent of meeting, so that you do not die—it is a permanent statute throughout your generations—
10
and to make a distinction between the holy and the profane, and between the unclean and the clean,
11
and so as to teach the sons of Israel all the statutes which the
Lord
has spoken to them through Moses.'
12
Then Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his surviving sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, 'Take the grain offering that is left over from the
Lord
’S offerings by fire and eat it as unleavened bread beside the altar, for it is most holy.
King James Version
Chapter 10
8
And the
Lord
spake unto Aaron, saying,
9
Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
10
And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
11
And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the
Lord
hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
12
And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the
Lord
made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 10
8
The
Lord
spoke to Aaron:
9
"You and your sons are not to drink wine or beer when you enter the tent of meeting, or else you will die; this is a permanent statute throughout your generations.
10
You must distinguish between the holy and the common, and the clean and the unclean,
11
and teach the Israelites all the statutes that the
Lord
has given to them through Moses."
12
Moses spoke to Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar: "Take the grain offering that is left over from the fire offerings to the
Lord
, and eat it prepared without yeast beside the altar, because it is especially holy.
New Living Translation
Chapter 10
8
Then the
Lord
said to Aaron,
9
You and your descendants must never drink wine or any other alcoholic drink before going into the Tabernacle. If you do, you will die. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation.
10
You must distinguish between what is sacred and what is common, between what is ceremonially unclean and what is clean.
11
And you must teach the Israelites all the decrees that the
Lord
has given them through Moses.'
12
Then Moses said to Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, 'Take what is left of the grain offering after a portion has been presented as a special gift to the
Lord
, and eat it beside the altar. Make sure it contains no yeast, for it is most holy.
