Then he went up from there to Penuel and spoke similarly to them; and the men of Penuel answered him just as the men of Succoth had answered.

So he said also to the men of Penuel, 'When I return safely, I will tear down this tower.'

Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their armies with them, about fifteen thousand men, all who were left of the entire army of the people of the east; for the fallen were 120,000 swordsmen.

And he spake also unto the men of Penuel, saying, When I come again in peace, I will break down this tower.

Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword.

He went from there to Penuel and asked the same thing from them. The men of Penuel answered just as the men of Succoth had answered.

He also told the men of Penuel, "When I return safely, I will tear down this tower!"

Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and with them was their army of about fifteen thousand men, who were all those left of the entire army of the Qedemites. Those who had been killed were one hundred twenty thousand armed men.

From there Gideon went up to Peniel and again asked for food, but he got the same answer.

So he said to the people of Peniel, 'After I return in victory, I will tear down this tower.'

By this time Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor with about 15,000 warriors — all that remained of the allied armies of the east, for 120,000 had already been killed.
