Joshua 24:15-16
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 24
15
But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the
Lord
, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the
Euphrates
River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the
Lord
.'
16
The people answered and said, 'Far be it from us that we would abandon the
Lord
to serve other gods;
King James Version
Chapter 24
15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the
Lord
, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the
Lord
.
16
And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the
Lord
, to serve other gods;

15
But if it doesn’t please you to worship the
Lord
, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship—the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living? As for me and my family, we will worship the
Lord
."
16
The people replied, "We will certainly not abandon the
Lord
to worship other gods!
New Living Translation
Chapter 24
15
But if you refuse to serve the
Lord
, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the
Lord
.'
16
The people replied, 'We would never abandon the
Lord
and serve other gods.

Then the people answered, "Far be it from us that we should forsake the

to serve other gods,

Chapter 24
15
But if serving the
