Chapter 19

34Then the border turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and proceeded from there to Hukkok; and it reached Zebulun on the south and reached Asher on the west, and Judah at the Jordan toward the east. 35The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, 36Adamah, Ramah, and Hazor, 37Kedesh, Edrei, and En-hazor, 38Yiron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. 39This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali according to their families, the cities with their villages.
40The seventh lot went to the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their families. 41The territory of their inheritance was Zorah, Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, 42Shaalabbin, Aijalon, and Ithlah, 43Elon, Timnah, and Ekron, 44Eltekeh, Gibbethon, and Baalath, 45Jehud, Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon, 46Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the territory opposite Joppa. 47The territory of the sons of Dan proceeded beyond them; for the sons of Dan went up and fought with Leshem and captured it. Then they struck it with the edge of the sword and took possession of it and settled in it; and they named Leshem Dan after the name of their father Dan. 48This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49When they finished apportioning the land for inheritance by its borders, the sons of Israel gave an inheritance among them to Joshua the son of Nun. 50In accordance with the command of the Lord, they gave him the city for which he asked, Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. So he built the city and settled in it.
51These are the inheritances which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the sons of Israel apportioned by lot in Shiloh before the Lord at the doorway of the tent of meeting. So they finished dividing the land.

51These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

47When the territory of the descendants of Dan slipped out of their control, they went up and fought against Leshem, captured it, and struck it down with the sword. So they took possession of it, lived there, and renamed Leshem after their ancestor Dan. 48This was the inheritance of the tribe of Dan’s descendants by their clans, these cities with their settlements.
49When they had finished distributing the land into its territories, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them. 50By the Lord’s command, they gave him the city Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, which he requested. He rebuilt the city and lived in it.
51These were the portions that the priest Eleazar, Joshua son of Nun, and the family heads distributed to the Israelite tribes by lot at Shiloh in the Lord’s presence at the entrance to the tent of meeting. So they finished dividing up the land.

Chapter 19

34The western boundary ran past Aznoth-tabor, then to Hukkok, and touched the border of Zebulun in the south, the border of Asher on the west, and the Jordan River on the east. 35The fortified towns included in this territory were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth, 36Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, 37Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor, 38Yiron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh — nineteen towns with their surrounding villages.
39The homeland allocated to the clans of the tribe of Naphtali included these towns and their surrounding villages.
40The seventh allotment of land went to the clans of the tribe of Dan.
41The land allocated as their homeland included the following towns: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh, 42Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, 43Elon, Timnah, Ekron, 44Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, 45Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon, 46Me-jarkon, Rakkon, and the territory across from Joppa.
47But the tribe of Dan had trouble taking possession of their land, so they attacked the town of Laish. They captured it, slaughtered its people, and settled there. They renamed the town Dan after their ancestor.
48The homeland allocated to the clans of the tribe of Dan included these towns and their surrounding villages.
49After all the land was divided among the tribes, the Israelites gave a piece of land to Joshua as his allocation. 50For the Lord had said he could have any town he wanted. He chose Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the town and lived there.
51These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the tribal leaders allocated as grants of land to the tribes of Israel by casting sacred lots in the presence of the Lord at the entrance of the Tabernacle at Shiloh. So the division of the land was completed.
