Chapter 10

14There was no day like that before it or after it, when the Lord listened to the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.
15Then Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp at Gilgal.
16Now these five kings had fled and hidden themselves in the cave at Makkedah. 17And it was told to Joshua, saying, 'The five kings have been found hidden in the cave at Makkedah.' 18So Joshua said, 'Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and post men by it to guard them,

14And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel. 15And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
16But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah. 17And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah. 18And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:

14There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought for Israel that day!
15Then Joshua and the Israelite army returned to their camp at Gilgal.
16During the battle the five kings escaped and hid in a cave at Makkedah. 17When Joshua heard that they had been found, 18he issued this command: 'Cover the opening of the cave with large rocks, and place guards at the entrance to keep the kings inside.
